Happy New Year!!
image2704688It’s hard to believe we are now over half way through the first month of 2016! How are you doing on those goals or new years resolutions that you set on January 1st? Are you meeting, exceeding or have you thrown your goals out the window in discouragement?

If you are meeting or exceeding the goals you set forth, good for you! If you have started to let them slip, which is understandable, because the demands of life have set in, aka…the kids, the job and everything else that comes up during our daily lives and gives us an excuse to put ourselves on the backburner, there is good news! You can still make changes! We actually change every single day. We are never the same person we were the day before, even the minute before. So settle into this new year with ease. That doesn’t mean get lazy with your health and fitness but it means there is always another opportunity to choose better options, so don’t beat yourself up.

To help you stay on course and fight off all those icky winter germs, I have an awesome smoothie recipe for you to make and enjoy! If you haven’t made one of the smoothies from my newsletters yet, today is the day! They are super easy, super delicious and super good for you! See the theme here? Smoothies are super!!

So this recipe came about out of necessity! I needed a smoothie and I needed it bad! (I sound like an infomercial, but I’m serious! It’s like that sometimes!) If you don’t have these items on hand, no problem! Get creative!

Here is what I came up with, and even dear daughter liked it!
Ingredients:
1 c. fresh squeezed orange juice (or whatever juice you have on hand, even water will work)

2 stalks of celery

1 large handful of spinach

1 frozen banana

½ cup of frozen strawberries (approximately, I actually eyeballed it)

1 Inch of freshly grated ginger (I

Blend all ingredients together. Makes one large serving. Double it up and freeze a serving in a mason jar for later! So no excuse not to have your green smoothie tomorrow! Check the freezer!!

Til next time,

May you be happy, may you be healthy, and may you be free!
