What do lemons and twists have in common?

No the answer is not a cocktail!

When we practice twists in a yoga class, the organs are compressed and we are pushing out blood filled with by-products and toxins. When we release the twist, fresh blood flows in, carrying oxygen and the building blocks for tissue healing. Twists stimulate circulation and have a cleansing and refreshing effect on the torso organs and glands.

Drinking warm lemon water each morning upon waking has a similar benefit. Lemon juice encourages healthy digestion by loosening toxins in your digestive tract. It also helps to relieve symptoms of indigestion such as heartburn, burping, and bloating.

Squeeze the juice from 1 lemon into a glass of lukewarm water, and enjoy the benefits! It’s sure to wake you up!
